GCT Jr. High Media Center’s Policies and Procedures:

The Jr. High Library is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The library has a flexible schedule. With the classroom teacher's permission

students can visit the library at any time during the day.

Students must sign in at the circulation desk.

Students must have a pass stating the purpose of visit.

Students using the internet must have a specific assignment and permission from the classroom teacher or the librarian.

Students may check out two books for two weeks. If the books are not returned by the due date, the student

is assessed a fine of five cents a day until the   books are returned. Students must pay for lost or damaged books.

Students with one overdue book may not check out another until the overdue book is returned.

Reference books can be checked out overnight with permission from the librarian.

Magazines may be checked out for one class period, but must be returned at the end of the period.

ACCELERATED READER PROGRAM

  • Accelerated Reader is supervised by the librarian under the direction of the English Department.

  • AR Home Connect-Must have username and password to login. See Mrs. Rogers for more information.

AUDIO BOOK GUIDELINES

  • GCT Junior High has over 200 audio books for checkout. These are available on CD and Playaway. Students must check out the audio books along with the published copy of the book.

  • Students are allowed to check out audio books for two weeks. If the audio books are not turned in on or before the due date a fine of five cents per day will be charged.

  • CD players, earbuds, and batteries will be provided for the students. Replacement earbuds may be purchased for $1.00.

  • Students are responsible for all lost, damaged, or broken Playaways, CDs, and CD players.

ONLINE DATABASES PROVIDED FREE THROUGH THE TRAVELER PROJECT:

Traveler databases offer magazines, books, encyclopedias, and other resources to all Arkansas residents.
