TECH TV is a broadcasting class that teaches students how to write, shoot, and edit video. Students will learn how to produce news stories, music videos, commercials, as well as, producing live events.
TECH TV broadcasts home ballgames and special events live on its cable access channel. The local cable companies carry TECH TV programming 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. The station runs birthday greetings, school and community announcement throughout the day.
There are several opportunities for students in TECH TV. CampSTN is a week long summer camp in Springfield, Missouri, for broadcasting students. STN also has a National Convention held in Anaheim, California, where students can attend sessions led by network professions. In Anaheim, students can also compete in on-site competitions. SkillsUSA has its State Competition in Hot Springs and its National Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, where students can compete for scholarships.
The local ABC network, KAIT, is a great supporter of our program. Many TECH TV students have been hired by KAIT or have gotten paid internships at the station.
