Today, we proudly celebrated two groups of teachers who were awarded grants from the Educational Foundation of the GCT School District!
Our second grade team received a grant of $1,419, and our dedicated Special Education teachers were awarded $2,000.
Congratulations to both groups on this well-deserved recognition! Your commitment continues to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our students.

January 27 is a day the Floyd family will always remember. On that day, Maddox Floyd was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer. Since then, Maddox has been receiving exceptional care at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—a place his mother describes with deep gratitude.
In support of Maddox and the incredible work done by St. Jude, our school hosted a silent auction fundraiser during our most recent Parent Night. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we raised an impressive $943.00.
We are immensely proud of the strength and resilience Maddox continues to show. Today, we had the honor of presenting a check for $943.00 to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, given in Maddox’s name.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Mr. Tim Dowler. He was more than just a member of our staff—he was a guiding light, a source of strength, and a cherished part of our community.
For 37 years, Mr. Dowler has poured heart, soul, and endless energy into the Greene County Tech School District. Always the hardest worker in the room-showing up early, staying late, and doing whatever it takes to support our school.
His loyalty, example, and love for people around him has left a legacy that words can’t fully capture. Mr. Dowler is a true Golden Eagle and will be greatly missed.

Our 3rd graders recently toured the Intermediate school. They were so excited to check it out. They will be back in just a few months, but as 4th graders!🦅
GOALS FOR GOOD is a community service project created by GCT high school student Thore Cardinal von Widdern which will benefit schools and bring fun to the community. Thore's project will provide funds to assist schools in meeting specific student needs and will contribute to your backpack food program, provide hygiene items and socks and underwear for clothing closets. This unique project was created by Thore after he recognized the ways schools and school employees contribute to various student needs beyond academics, and he wanted to find a way to give back. 100% of funds raised by our students go to OUR school.
Please join us on May 3 (9 am-12 pm). Thore's event will take place at the Community Center Soccer fields. We will be set up between the pool and the restrooms . There will be LOTS for the kids to do—all FREE.
A big shoutout to our GCT Chartwell Lunch Heroes and the incredible leadership of Ms. Kristin Gazaway and Ms. Jennifer Ring! They brighten the day of every student at Greene County Tech with a smile while serving breakfast and lunch. We're truly blessed to have them!

We had a school-wide challenge to hit a goal of $10,000 to go toward parent nights, student events, student incentives, and classroom materials,
So far we have raised $5,505! Since we did not quite reach our fundraising goal, we decided to keep donating open for one more week! Every contribution makes a huge impact on the lives of our students at GCT Elementary School.

Hospital Wing brought a chopper out for the GCT Elementary Safety Team. The students were able to see the chopper and hear from the pilot and medic about their jobs!
