GCT Patrons: We will be out of school for a flex day on Monday, April 8th, 2024. On this day, Greene County will be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse. All GCT campuses will be closed due to this event. Each GCT student has received a pair of solar eclipse glasses along with safety tips for viewing. Please be safe and we will see everyone back on Tuesday. As a reminder, the next scheduled flex day for GCT will be on Monday, April 15th, 2024.

GCT's Makayla Cross, won 1st place in the A-State English Dept’s 2024 Writing Competition for her essay “Following the Leader”. She also won a Barnes and Noble gift card. Dr. Rob Lamm is presenting her award. Makayla wrote her essay for Mrs. Baine’s AP Lang class.

It is your responsibility to make sure your Dr has faxed us your note. Check your HAC to make sure we have received it. We will not change an unexcused absence to a Dr. note after the 48 hours. Prom tickets are for sale in the office for $10.00. Ticket sales will end at 10:00am Friday April 5th. You must pay when you sign up for Prom.You may not bring a date younger than 9th grade or older than 20. NHS/National Honor Society will have a meeting today during Enrichment in Mrs. Massey's room Pride 316 to discuss our Spring Project. Please attend if possible. Food Day # 8 Friday Early Prom dismissal times: Jrs & Srs with Prom Ticket in hand will be dismissed at 10:00 and Sophomores with Prom Ticket in hand will be dismissed at 10:30! Pretty cool to see two former students, one near the start and one near the end of my career, making a positive impact in our community. Congrats to George Vaughan on being named the Chamber's Volunteer of the Year. Thank you Kevin Young for your service to the Chamber.

Our students were treated to a great show by our theater department today. It's still amazes me how talented our students are. Mrs. Dial has produced another incredible show.

Congratulations to Mrs. Charity Andrews, Paragould Regional Chamber Educator of the Year! Mrs. Andrews is so deserving of this award for her work in our school district and our community. She is truly one of the best!! #StayGoldenEagles

The GCT Choir had a great time performing, making a professional recording, and sightseeing in Nashville during spring break.

I spy some Golden Eagles among the BRTC students in the phlebotomy program. Our students in the program are able to learn skills and earn certificates as High School students that will prepare them for the high demand professions in the workforce!

Seniors: There are several scholarships that are due tomorrow, March 15th. Make sure you get those turned in. ***Very Important**** The paper application has 9 scholarships tied to the application that will only go to GCT students.

Eagle Nation, You are awesome!!! Ginger Thornton presented Landen Floyd with a gift from our Patrons, students, and faculty. Special thanks to the Ram Family for their contributions as well. Thank you to everyone who donated to Landen and his family.

Congratulations to Mrs. Donna Cobb. She is our February Teacher of the Month. Mrs. Cobb is an outstanding educator and is well respected by her peers and students. Thank you Mrs. Cobb for all of your hard work and dedication to your students.

Congratulations to Penny Johnson. She was vote the February Staff Member of the Month by our students and staff. Mrs. Johnson is a fantastic staff member and she is always willing to help our students and staff members.

All GCT High School Choirs qualified for State competition at Regionals today!

Mrs Dial and her Theater Crew are working hard this Saturday in preparation for their upcoming musical in late March.

Award winning Nashville singer-songwriter Erin Enderlin performed for GCTHS students, lead classroom Q&A sessions, and gave an inspirational message about following your dreams as part of the Historic Dyess Colony Johnny Cash outreach program.

Students in Mrs Woodall's Drug-Free Teens club spent part of the afternoon reading to students in the younger grades across our district. Students young and old enjoyed the experience.
