JROTC is hosting the spring blood drive on Friday, March 6th. You must be 16 years old, with parent permission, to donate blood. Sign-up in the JROTC classroom for a time slot with either Sergeant Burlingame or Sergeant Williams. JROTC will also have a table in the Jade Eagle Rotunda to sign up. Sign ups will start Monday, March 2nd.

This Friday, March 6th is the last day to register for the April ACT without late fees.

JROTC Cadets had the opportunity to visit John Pershing Veteran Hospital. The cadets visited with veterans that are permanent residents as well as veterans that were waiting for their appointments. The cadets also got the honor to meet John T. Wayne, Grandson of John Wayne. John T. Wayne is a 20 year Veteran who served in the US Marine Corps. On February 12-14, 23 Students from Troupe 7614 from Greene County Tech High School participated in the Arkansas State Thespian Festival at Har-Ber High School in Springdale. Students participated in many workshops and performances at the three day event as well as competitions. Five students received Superior ratings which qualifies them for National competition. Reminder: Per State Law, Cell Phones and other personal electronic devices must be turned off and stored in a backpack, in the office, a locker, or vehicle. If a phone makes noise, vibrates, or goes off while in a backpack, it will be confiscated. Per policy, any phone that is visible in a pocket, jacket, or elsewhere outside of a backpack/vehicle will be confiscated!

Students, You have 48 hours to turn in your parent note, Dr. note. etc. After 48 hours, the absence will be unexcused. It is your responsibility to check to make sure your Dr. office faxed us your note. You can check your attendance in HAC.

There will be no Jr Prom workers meetings this week. We will resume next week.

We will be taking the Geometry ATLAS Interim Test during our testing period today from 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm. Students, these interim exams are very important and will give your teachers valuable information on what you will need to work on between now and the Summative ATLAS Testing in April. At the end of 7th period today, go straight to your testing rooms. Leave all of your personal belongings in the hallway outside the classroom. Any cell phones that are found in the room will be sent to Little Rock for examination and will be returned to you when the Department of Education is finished going through it.
The Trap Shooting Team needs to come to the Academic Rotunda after announcements to have their picture taken for the yearbook.

We will go to our ATLAS Testing rooms during enrichment today to prepare for tomorrow’s interim testing. Juniors and Seniors will report back to their 1st period teachers classroom. The Junior and Seniors who are involved in Band or Athletics will report to their regular enrichment periods. Juniors and Seniors whose 1st period teacher: 1: Does not have an 8th period class, 2: Has a room in Excellence Hall; 3: Is helping with testing, will report to the alternate room. All students taking the ATLAS Biology Interim will report to their testing rooms at the end of 7th period. 1st period teachers, please tell your 1st period students where they will report today during Enrichment.

Congratulations to our Girls Swim Team, they finished at the 5A East Conference runner up and the Boys finished 3rd in 5A East. Emma Holmes broke the long standing 200 IM school record that was set by Sydney Adams. The new record now stands at a time of 2:25.05. Emma also beat her previous 100 Butterfly record setting her new time at 1:07.40.
