The Red Cross Blood Drive will be Wednesday October 22nd, located in the practice gym. Blood can ONLY be given by students 16 and above. To sign up for a time slot, please visit the JROTC located down Tradition hall in Room 603.
Any student wanting to take the ASVAB test on October 28th can sign up in the Counselor's office or ROTC room.
October 29th will be a make-up photo day for students(10th and 11th) and staff!
Troupe 7614 of the International Thespian Society will be hosting Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat every Thursday and Friday in October! Bring non-perishable food items to our booth in the Grand Hall before school and receive a special treat! All items will benefit the Little Pantry or the Backpack Program.
The Pay it Forward Club will be collecting bags of candy as well as any other Halloween themed party favors for the upcoming Trunk or Treat event sponsored by JROTC. This event will take place on Oct. 31st so we will be collecting these items through mid-October. Other than candy, please consider donating pencils, stickers, silly jewelry like spider rings or glow in the dark things, anything that a kid might enjoy. Please drop off your items to Mr. Blake or Mrs. Niki at any time.
There will be a Tech vs Paragould Powder Buff game. This will be a volleyball game played by the males in grades 9th-12th. This will take place at Tech on Monday, November 3rd. There will be two teams. The first is a varsity team, which consists of 11th and 12th graders. The second is a junior varsity team, which consists of 9th and 10th graders. There will be a $10 fee to cover the cost of the t-shirt. I have attached a Google Form for those that are interested to fill out and submit. These forms need to be submitted no later than Friday, October 10th.

Each period, all students in the listed club will go to the Arena endzone on the West End of the Arena (The end closest to the Grand Hall). When students have been photographed, they will return to class.
Club Sponsors, If you want to be in your photo, please bring your class to the Arena and sit them in the West End zone while your club is being photographed.
We will make an all call at the beginning of 1st period for the first group to come to the Arena. After all other class periods, students will report straight to the Arena for their club photos. Teachers, At the end of each class, please announce to your students the list of the club photos that will be taken the next class period so they will know whether to report to the Arena or go to class.

Mrs. Brightwell and Mrs. Jackson had a fun lesson in Biology recently. They created animal and plant cell models made of candy. Learn some science, eat some candy, sounds like a great day. Thank you for making learning fun and delicious at GCT.
Our students had a great lesson in life with the help of Teresa Branch from Workforce Development. Our students played "The Game of Life" and got a small dose of what adulthood is like: Earning a salary, paying taxes, selecting housing, paying child care, making food and clothing choices, car payments, etc. Thank you Mrs. Branch and all of the Chamber members for the effort you made to create a fun learning experience for our students.

Congratulations to our GCT Marching Eagle Band for an awesome first competition performance at the Legacy Marching Invitational! Class 5A Champions!!
The GCT Marching Eagle Band will make its debut competition performance this Saturday, September 27th at the Legacy Marching Invitational .They will perform their show "The Caterpillar" at 3:30 pm at the Bryant High School Stadium. Come out and support our GCT Marching Eagle Band!

Monday: Debate Day- dress like a Politicians getting ready for a debate. This will likely be Sunday best.
Tuesday: 10th Amendment Day- because "powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people" (Constitution- 10th amendment of the Bill of Rights), lets show support for our state! Wear your favorite Arkansas or Natural State gear
Wednesday: Article 1 Day: Article 1 of the constitution establishes a standing military, so let's show our military some love by wearing your military gear or camo.
Thursday: Stars and Stripes Day- red your most patriotic red, white, and blue!
Friday: Eagles Day- Proud to be an American, Proud to be an Eagle- wear your favorite Eagle/Green and Gold gear.
Lets show the community that GCTHS is proud to be an American. Stop by the patriotic photo booth at lunch and snap a pic with you and your friends to show your patriotism! Email pics to Mrs. Oost to be included on the school social media platforms as well!
