Mrs. Patricia Lenderman is the 2023-2024 Food Service Worker of the Year! We are blessed to have Mrs. Patricia in our cafeteria at the Primary school!

Greene County Tech was named School of the Year for 2024 by Arkansas Special Olympics at tonight's Honor Banquet before the state games.

Ms. Jessica is loved by every staff member and student on GCT Intermediate Campus. She is always a bright spot in everyone's day and works hard to keep our campus in the best shape. She is very deserving of the Support Staff of the Year.

The GCT Intermediate Certified Staff Member of the Year is Ms. Shelly Templeton, 5th grade literacy and social studies teacher. Ms. Trmpleton works tirelessly to meet the individual needs of every student and challenges them to go far beyond what they believe they are capable of. We are very proud to have Ms. Templeton as a member of our GCT Intermediate Family.

**Important Notice from Your School Nurse**
Dear Parents/Guardians of students going into the 6th grade:
Students going into the 6th grade who turn 11 years old on or before September 1st are required by law to have a TDap vaccine prior to the beginning of the school year. If your child does not receive the vaccine, he/she will not be permitted to attend school. (There is a 30 day grace period.)
Due to the volume of students requiring this vaccine, I recommend you contact your child’s doctor or the Greene County Health Dept. (870) 236-7782 as soon as possible to set up an appointment. If you wait until September to schedule your child’s appointment, you will have trouble getting the vaccine prior to the deadline. It is your responsibility to provide the school with an updated immunization copy once your child has received the vaccine. This should be given to Gina Hobbs, GCT Middle School nurse no later than September 30th.
If you have any questions, please contact me, Mrs. Hobbs (870-215-4400
Ext: 8030), your child’s doctor, or the Greene Co. Health Dept. Thank you for your cooperation.

Mrs. Hudson's class was treated to a guest teacher in Mrs. Shelli Boone's art class today. Maggie Cole, a junior at GCT, taught a painting class to the students. They learned how to use take care of their brushes, how to use acrylics, and they learned art terms like gradient. The kids had a great time and produced wonderful pieces of art.

The Student Council went to the NEA Food Bank today. They packed 216 boxes of food in under an hour and were able to tour the facility and learn a little about what they do. They didn't want to take a break either. They worked hard, were very well behaved, and were told they were a great group of kids. They enjoyed lunch at Chick-fil-A and then went to Together We Foster clothing closet to help. They were very eager to help and would ask for more tasks to complete.
