Attention GCT Patrons:
The Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has offered an early start waiver for next school year. This waiver would allow GCT to start school during the week of August 12th as opposed to August 19th. We are asking for some feedback from patrons concerning the early start. Please provide your feedback using the form linked below.

SNOW DAY MAKEUP INFORMATION:
The Arkansas Department of Education issued a waiver that allows school districts to change their calendar from traditional to alternate. Traditional calendars calculate days, while the alternate calendar calculates minutes/hours. Districts are allowed to "bank" instructional time and substitute that time for inclement weather days. GCT took advantage of the waiver and was able to substitute two of the three days we missed for snow. This means we only need to make up one day. We will make up this day on February 19th.
GCT is open and running normal bus routes today, 1-22-2024.
GCT is planning on being open and running normal bus routes on Monday, 1-22-2024. There is a slight risk of inclement weather Monday morning and a potential for dangerous travel conditions. We are watching the weather and will make a decision in the morning based on road conditions and the forecast. As always, safety is a priority and we thank you for your patience and support.
GCT parents and guardians: We have updated the modified bus routes for this afternoon and highlighted the drop off times. See attachment.

GCT will be open Friday, 1-19-2024 and will use some modified bus routes (see below). Although our campuses are clear and our modified bus stops are clear, we realize that some side roads and county roads still have snow and ice. We urge you to use your best judgment when deciding whether or not to travel to a bus stop or to allow a student to drive. If you believe it is not safe to travel, please stay home and simply call your principal’s office to let them know. Thank you to all patrons for your support and patience. #staygoldeneagles

GCT will be closed Thursday, 1-18-2024, due to inclement weather and road conditions. Schools no longer have the AMI option. The make up day will be announced once it is determined.

Open Interviews: see attached flyer.

Mrs. Puckett’s 6th Grade Literacy students have spent the last few weeks enjoying a novel study together. Students spent this week completing a group project that reflects their interpretations of the main characters from the book while also analyzing many different story elements. The final project is made up of 4 separate sections that, when combined, create one comprehensive design. This assignment required students to communicate clearly, fairly delegate tasks, problem solve, and work effectively as a team. They had a lot of fun and did a phenomenal job!!

Mrs. Brasher took her 7th grade students to deliver ornaments they made in art class to the Primary School on Wednesday.
